Our Fast Fixed Channel (FFC) is a pre-fabricated steel channel, made from Grade 304 stainless steel, that is embedded into concrete structures during the construction process. These channels are available in various lengths and sizes which are placed in the required location before pouring concrete to ensure they are securely cast once the concrete sets.
Each channel comes equipped with anchors, ensuring a strong bond with the concrete for high-capacity loads. Nail holes can be included to facilitate the attachment of channels to timber if required. In this case an infill is used to prevent concrete ingress during casting.
Cast-in Channel Features
Load Distribution
They help distribute loads from attached fixtures into the concrete structure.
Flexibility in Attachment
Provide flexible and adjustable fixing points for various building components, facilitating easier and more precise alignment and installation.
Structural Integrity
Securely anchoring various elements during the construction process reduces the need for post-installed anchors that might weaken the structure.
Fixings
Our ‘T’ Head Bolts are produced and tested following the guidelines of BS EN ISO 3506-1:2009, which outlines the mechanical properties of stainless steel fasteners.
To install, insert the bolt into the slot between the channel and rotate it 90°. This rotation causes the bolt to engage with the channel’s profile and move forward until it locks at the front of the channel, enabling the attachment of additional components. The bolt features a slot on the shank’s end to indicate its orientation, which should be nearly vertical when properly secured.
